Recently, some friends and I woke up extra early to hop on the morning bus from Valbonne to catch Nice's morning market (located in the "Vieux Village", the heart of most French cities, the "Old Town")... as grumpy as we all were at 6:30am, it was WELL worth the wake up call.

All the colours and textures were a feast for the eyes... not to mention the sweet, spicy, savory, succulent smells coming from every direction.... if your mouth isn't watering, I don't know what's wrong with you but you better get it checked out.
Bisous,
El.
PS. Also available at the Nice Market (and other small establishments throughout Nice) is "Socca" a traditional crepe-like snack specific to Nice. For 3 euros a piece, sink your teeth into that oily, messy Socca and you won't be disappointed. Also a good filler for a traveler looking to save money but fill their belly :)
PSS. One more photo from Market Day in Nice that I stumbled across and wanted to share with you... take a big whiff, maybe you'll smell the spices!
