Casting the right light....

I've got to say... once the sun starts shining, everything just feels better.... everyone seems happier, things seem clearer.

I caught this particularly nice moment at the Dublin City Gallery and I'd say, I think the photo really shows how important the sun can be to casting the right light....

Decay....

Architectural photography is definitely my cup of tea but not just ANY type of architecture, specifically, the decay of architecture is truly inspiring to me.

The history, the stories that scream out from behind the rust, the crumbling bricks, the chipping paint sends shivers through me and it makes my lens go nuts. I can't stop... I came back from Dublin with literally HUNDREDS of photos specifically focusing on this subject.

I absolutely FELL for this next building... so much so that when I first saw it I couldn't tear my eyes away but because I had gotten my family to stop so often to take photos I passed by it... this bothered me so much that after they left, I specifically hunted down this building to photograph it. I think it was definitely worth it!

Maybe I'm crazy but I think there is beauty in this decay that no new building could capture... these buildings are aged, they have wrinkles, freckles, spots... each a testament to its past...

It's all on the wall...

Having spent the last week in Dublin for my 25th birthday (which is St. Patricks Day and I think everyone should experience St. Patty's in Ireland at some point in their lives... AMAZING!) I was really able to explore the city and see some incredible street art.... here are a few of my favorites... ranging from brilliantly clever to simple but eyecatching...

When I got back to Bristol (pleasantly surprised by the warm weather that greeted me) I took a nice walk down Gloucester Rd. (the most artistic and inspiring area of Bristol), I took some quick snaps of some of the street art that I came across there... I hope you love it as much as I do!

Expect more photos from this gorgeous area of Bristol very soon!!

Take the Leap....

Can I just say that I highly suggest this to ANYONE??

Take the leap... let go... have fun!

I talk all I want about this and appear really brave but honestly, I was a pretty big WUSS when I was at the top (even though I have done it before but something about the swinging basket from a high crane really made me feel uneasy).

Took me a few minutes to step to that edge... AND a bit of a push (after being told they would count down from 5... I was pushed at 4...this resulted in a scream I didn't know I could possibly produce).

Still... Do it, it's such a rush!!

PS. Thank you to my wonderful girlfriends who gave me this experience for my birthday! It is something I will never forget and was a great way to start off my 26th year of life...

Oh, what photo opportunities lie in the Laundry room...

I'm heading off to Dublin tomorrow night (well London first for a wonderful (and unplanned, I should add) sleep over at Heathrow airport) to meet my sister for a wonderful birthday extravanganza... and YES, for those of you that are wondering... my birthday is on St. Patrick's Day... and YES, I know, it is the best birthday of all 365 options... that's why I picked it.

Expect some exciting updates when I return early next week :)
