"A little bit..."

I'm just "a little bit" excited that I just booked tickets for myself and a few friends to see Lykke Li here in Bristol on April 12th!! Oh my goodness, she's going to be great! For those of you who have yet to check out Lykke Li... what are you waiting for? Get on the band wagon already!

So good!

9 DAYS UNTIL THE BIG DAY!

Hi all!!

YES, I still love you and I hate that I haven't been able to post much lately. Due to some serious technical difficulties, IE. computer crashing multiple times... I've been unable to post and/or upload any photos of recent adventures and sites seen! I had a fantastic time in Scotland last weekend and can't wait to share the details with you.. with lots of lovely photos to tell the story :)

There are only 9 days now until Christmas and I feel very lucky to be getting a brand new, GORGEOUS, digital SLR camera from my family members to take amazing photos with... the benefits of which will filter down to you lovely folks via beautiful photographs on the blog! So we all win... well mostly me, but you're a winner too and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Well you will know when the computer is back up and running because there will be a flurry of activity on El. K. B. So keep checking back.

Big Hugs
El.

Headed to the Snowy North Country....

Scottish Flag C/O "Journalist on the Run"
So I'm heading off to Edinburgh first thing tomorrow morning and have a list of fun things you can expect to hear ALLL about upon my return :):

1. Ice Skating in the shadow of Edinburgh castle.... I don't really know if the outdoor rink is anywhere near the castle but it is in my dream so let's go with that until reality proves otherwise... OR my dream comes true!

2. Whiskey Tour at the Scottish Whisky Hertiage Centre (haha, yes its a whole centre dedicated to the history of Scotch)... I've been told there is a pretty amazing Barrel Ride I have to partake in!

3. National Scottish Art Gallery....my family heritage lies in Scotland so I'm excited to learn a little bit more about the history of, my personal favorite, art there!

4. A tour of Edinburgh Castle is definitely in order... I don't know if any explanation is needed here, it's a castle therefore very neat!

5. Eating Hagus whilst drinking Guiness... this screams "TOURIST" but I really don't mind... I'm doing it and no one can stop me... well the Hagus might stop me, I'm not sure how my stomach is going to feel about it but I have to give it a shot... from what I've heard, it's pretty tasty!

Looking forward to sharing all my beautiful snowy photos with you!

See you Monday!

Bath time...

Snowy walk to the bus stop;
Bristol, UK; Photo by El. K. B.
I heard about this "magical" Christmas market out in Bath from friends here in Bristol and I HAD to check it out. Only a 15 minute train ride away, it's was an easy day trip!

The market was definitely amazing... I ate traditional English sausage, drank mulled wine (a fantastic Christmas treat), visited the ruins of the Roman baths, as well as the Bath Abbey and took a bath myself at the Thermea Spa that has naturally heated (from the last remaining hot spring in England) pools.

One of these pools was located on the roof which overlooked an incredible snow dusted English countryside! It felt so good to hang out in a warm pool with with the FREEEEZING wind whipping across your face, it was amazing!

Here are a few photos of my favorite moments from throughout the day (sorry, none from inside the spa as it was a little difficult to take the camera into the steam room). All the market people were so lovely and despite being extremely cold conditions all day long, they were all fantastically friendly... it really warmed me up!

I could do this day all over again tomorrow but I can probably wait a month or so... and next time I'm going to take friends with me!

Loves,
El.

PS. A little concerned about getting to Scotland next weekend as the Edinburgh airport was closed today due to snowy conditions!
